Recommended Things to do with MEK1 Gaming PC after first Power Up

2018.01.30 7:45 PM

So you've unboxed the ZOTAC GAMING MEK1 Gaming PC and did the following:

  • Installed the two stands (these keep MEK1 stable so it doesn't easily tilt over...bad)
  • Installed the two Wi-Fi antennas
  • Hooked up the bundled ZOTAC GAMING Mechanical Keyboard and Gaming Mouse.
  • Place the Gaming Mouse on the bundled ZOTAC GAMING Mouse Pad
  • Plugged in the power cable to a power strip or wall outlet.
  • Hooked up speakers/headphones and monitor (HDMI/DP/DVI), and Ethernet cable (not needed if you plan to use Wi-Fi instead).

We hope you enjoyed the unboxing experience. We worked to make it special.

What do I do now? Power up the MEK1 Gaming PC. Slide the transparent Front door down to get access to the Power button. Press the power button to turn on the system.

Let it load and do its thing to get ready.

You should see the Windows 10 First Time Setup process. Go ahead and follow through the prompted screens. No need for us to guide you through that. It's pretty straight forward.

Okay, by now, you should be at the Windows 10 Desktop. This is where this article comes in handy.

Things we recommend that you do:

Initialize the Secondary drive if you don't see it.

Click on this FAQ article we've prepared to get this done - https://www.zotac.com/faq/i-dont-see-my-secondary-hard-disk-drive-hdd

Get familiar with the SPECTRA lighting system

Click on this article we've prepared to get the latest version of the SPECTRA utility and customize it to make the MEK1 Gaming PC more yours - https://www.zotac.com/news/how-use-zotac-gaming-spectra-utility

Get the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX Drivers

We recommend downloading the drivers directly from NVIDIA as they are faster in getting the latest drivers up - https://www.geforce.com/drivers

Make sure to select GeForce 10 series, GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, and Windows 10 64-bit from the drop down options, click start search, click on the latest GeForce drivers (usually the one at the top), click on Agree and download. Run the setup once the download finishes.

Thats it!

All thats left for you to do is install your applications and games and whatever else you plan to do with the MEK1 Gaming PC.
